Packaging Designer in India

Packaging is where design meets the real world: cardboard, labels, tape, shelves and delivery vans. How we design packs that work anywhere in India.

Packaging is where design meets the real world: cardboard, labels, tape, shelves and delivery vans. Many Indian brands make their products in one city and sell in another, so the pack has to look right on a stranger's shelf and survive the journey. Vectographics in Gurugram creates packaging design for businesses across the country, working remotely. Here is how to approach it from wherever you are.

Begin with the journey of the pack

Ask where the product travels before you ask what it should look like. A pickle jar sent by courier to another state needs a different label and carton than a soap bar displayed in a local store. List the steps: filled at your unit, boxed, stored, shipped, unboxed by a customer. Weak points show up quickly, and the design can respond to them with clear handling icons, sturdy panel placement and instructions printed where they will be seen.

Know the surface you are designing on

Labels for bottles, jars and tins

size, curve and material matter.

Cartons and boxes

a flat dieline wraps into a three-dimensional shape.

Pouches and sachets

seals and tear notches limit where artwork can sit.

Shipping cartons

need to be legible to couriers and warehouse staff.

We design to the dimensions you give us. If you do not have them, we can create the dieline for you, or you can ask your packaging supplier for theirs, because guessing sizes leads to costly reprints.

A remote process with samples in the loop

The project begins with a call about the product, the audience and the sales channel. You then share any existing pack, photos, the dieline from your vendor and the text that must appear. We send the design as PDFs and flat mockups. Most projects take three to five working days, and one revision round is included. At the end you receive editable files for your printer.

Because packaging is physical, build in a sample stage. Once the artwork is approved, ask your packaging vendor for a printed sample or a proof. Colours on a phone screen differ from ink on board. We can help with printing, and we are glad to review a photo of the sample and suggest adjustments.

One product, many regions

Brands that sell in several states often wonder whether to create regional packs. Sometimes one design with a local-language panel is enough. Other times, separate versions are warranted. Decide who the shopper is: a family buying groceries in a small town may feel more confident with text in their own language. Send finalised wording for each language, proofread by a native reader.

Information that appears on packs

Depending on category, packaging may need to show a batch number, manufacturing and expiry details, net quantity, a barcode, manufacturer address, GST-related details, an FSSAI licence number for food, or other legal markings. Rules vary and change, so please confirm the exact requirements with your adviser or the relevant authority. We position and style what you provide; we do not certify compliance.

Export packs

If you sell abroad, the importing country may ask for specific wording or marks. Again, confirm with your adviser or buyer, and send us the final text. A tidy layout with spare room for such text prevents rework later.

Building confidence without a visit

Ask for a clear scope, agree what files you will receive, and check each draft against the physical dieline. We encourage questions at every step, since an unnoticed spelling slip printed on five thousand boxes is more painful than a long call.

Packaging design is quoted individually because the number of pack types and sizes drives the work. These outlines show how projects commonly vary.

FAQ

Do you need to see the physical product?

Not necessarily. Photos, dimensions and a dieline from your supplier are usually enough to start.

Do you help with printing of packs?

Yes, we offer printing help. We deliver print-ready artwork, and you can also use your own vendor.

Can a pack carry two languages?

Yes. Provide final text and we will lay it out clearly.

What if my printer's colours look different?

Request a proof before the full run, and share it with us if you want an opinion.
