Hiring a logo designer in Gurgaon sounds easy until you start looking. There are freelancers on Instagram, agencies in Cyber City, small studios, and websites that promise a logo in two hours for ₹499. The results range from excellent to a logo you later find on someone else's visiting card.
This guide covers what to check before you pay anyone. It is written by a design studio, so we are not neutral, but every point applies to us too.
1. Decide what you need first
Before you contact anyone, write down:
what your business does, in two sentences
who your customers are
where the logo will appear
signboard, packaging, social media, vehicle, uniform
two or three logos you like and one you dislike
your deadline and rough budget
This makes every conversation faster, and you will get more accurate quotes.
2. Look at the portfolio the right way
A good portfolio shows variety. If every logo looks like the same designer's taste, you will probably get that style too, whether it suits your business or not.
- Does each logo suit its business? A logo for a law firm should not look like one for an ice-cream parlour.
- Is there a range? Wordmarks, icons, monograms, different colours.
- Can you see the logo in use? On a board, a card, a packet. Logos on blank white backgrounds hide problems.
- Are they real clients? Ask if you can contact one.
3. Ask about the process
A designer who asks nothing and sends logos tomorrow is guessing. A good process includes a briefing conversation, some research on your industry and competitors, multiple concepts based on reasons, room for revisions, and final delivery in organised files. You do not need a long process, but you do need one.
4. Check what files you will receive
This is where cheap deals go wrong. You should receive:
Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG, PDF) that can be scaled to any size, from a pen to a hoarding
Image files (PNG with transparent background, JPG) for web and social media
Colour versions
full colour, one colour, black and white, and reversed for dark backgrounds
Colour codes: HEX and RGB for screens, CMYK for print
Font names used in the design
If a designer sends only a JPG, you will struggle the first time a printer asks for a vector file.
5. Understand ownership and originality
Ask two direct questions: Once I pay, do I own the full rights to this logo? Is any part of the design from a template, stock icon, or AI generator? Templates and stock icons cannot be exclusive to you, and some cannot be trademarked. If you plan to register a trademark, ask a trademark attorney before finalising.
6. Compare pricing sensibly
Logo prices in Gurgaon vary widely. Very low prices usually mean templates, few ideas, or no support. Very high prices usually include strategy, research and full brand identity. What to compare across quotes:
| What to compare | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Number of concepts | More directions means a better chance of the right fit |
| Number of revisions | Unlimited sounds good but often has limits in the fine print |
| Files included | Vector files are essential |
| Brand guidelines | Helpful if multiple people will use the logo |
| Timeline | Rushed work costs more |
Do not pick on price alone. Pick on fit, then compare price among those who fit.
7. Read reviews carefully
Look at recent Google reviews. Useful ones mention specifics: how the designer handled feedback, whether deadlines were met, and what the final result was. Be cautious of reviews that all sound alike or were posted on the same day.
8. Red flags
- They send a finished logo before asking a single question
- They will not share source files
- They will not say who owns the rights
- Every portfolio piece looks the same
- The price is much lower than everyone else's with no explanation
- They pressure you to decide immediately
9. Questions to ask on the first call
- 1. How many concepts will I see?
- 2. How many revisions are included, and what do extra ones cost?
- 3. Which files will I receive?
- 4. Who owns the logo once I pay?
- 5. How long will it take?
- 6. Can I speak to a past client?
- 7. What happens if I do not like any of the concepts?
So, who should you hire?
Someone whose work you like, who asks good questions, who explains their process, and whose terms are clear. That could be us or someone else. If you would like to talk, read our logo designer in Gurgaon article in this journal or call +91 87870 46964.
Frequently asked questions
How much should I pay for a logo in Gurgaon?
It depends on scope. Compare what is included, not just the number.
Can I use a logo maker website instead?
You can, but results are generic and often cannot be trademarked. For a business that will grow, a custom logo is usually worth it.
Should I hire a freelancer or a studio?
Either can work. A freelancer may be cheaper. A studio may handle logo, brochure, packaging and website under one roof.
