A brochure often has to do the job of a salesperson who cannot be in the room. If your customers are scattered across states, that matters even more: a distributor in Indore or a school principal in Ranchi may read your brochure long before they speak to you. At Vectographics in Gurugram we design brochures for businesses all over India, and this guide covers what is different when the whole project is handled remotely.
Start with the reader, not the layout
Before we open design software, we ask three questions. Who will hold this brochure? Where will they be when they read it? What should they do next? A trade brochure left on a dealer's counter has a different life from one emailed as a PDF to a purchase manager. Answers shape the page size, the number of panels and how much text is sensible.
Decide how it travels
Remote clients tend to use brochures in one of three ways, and each needs different files.
Printed and posted
needs print-ready artwork with margins and bleed for your chosen printer, plus weight in mind for courier costs.
Sent digitally
a compressed PDF that opens quickly on a phone and works when forwarded on WhatsApp.
Carried by field staff
a compact fold that fits a bag and survives monsoon travel.
Many businesses want both a print file and a light digital version. Mention this up front so we prepare each properly.
Working across distance
The project begins with a call and a shared folder of whatever you already have: product photos, an old brochure, a logo, price lists, certificates. We then build the layout and send a PDF preview. You comment by marking the PDF, writing on WhatsApp or replying by email. Because the whole country shares a time zone, there is no waiting overnight for answers. Most brochure projects take three to five working days, with one revision round included and editable files provided at the end.
Tip for teams: choose one person to collect feedback. Brochures read by five approvers across three offices can easily produce five contradictory edits.
Language and script choices
A brochure for a dealer network in Gujarat or Maharashtra may work better with a Hindi, Gujarati or Marathi version beside the English one. There are two common approaches. One is a bilingual spread where each panel carries both languages. The other is two separate editions with matching layouts. The second is cleaner when text is long. We can help with content writing, but for regional languages please have the final copy checked by someone who reads it natively before we typeset it.
Details that appear on business brochures
Depending on your trade, a brochure may carry a GST number, an FSSAI licence number, an import-export code, certifications, or the registered address of a head office and branches. Please confirm exactly what must appear, and in what form, with your accountant or legal adviser. We place whatever you supply, but we do not verify regulatory details.
Samples and logistics
If you plan to print in your own city, send us the printer's specification sheet or ask them what they need. Paper type, size and finish affect the final look, and a proof from the actual printer is worth the small wait. If you order a printed run, ask for a physical sample before approving the full quantity. We design the artwork and can help with printing, or you can work with your own vendor.
What makes a brochure feel trustworthy
Buyers who have never met you look for small signals: consistent addresses, clear contact details for each branch, real product photos instead of generic stock, and a layout that does not feel cluttered. Show a map or a simple list of cities served if you operate in many places.
